are found in mass media and/or popular culture: film, video games, comic books, ...  

sound is an important medium, that exists in viewers' activated work 
(e.g. chairs that emit sounds when one sits on them, or mats when one walks on them, ... ) 
and in voice overs (recent work with film footage)
