Thank God for Babel

One of the many disturbing situations brought to the fore by the web's internationality is our relationships with language and communication. We have almost reached the technological point at which there is no longer a barrier to communication between people with no common language. For me this peice makes this disturbing projection of a time when whatever language you speak, with whatever stylistic quirks and colloquial beauty it will be droned out in machine monotone and answered in kind.
The variety of scripts and languages from gestural pictograms to yodelling umlouts reminds me that the babble of a zillion languages especially when presented visually like that can broaden the narrow perspective of my computer screen.
