The first in the series of presentations related to the translation project was ON TRANSLATION: THE PAVILION as part of ARS 95 in Helsinki, Finland. The background and point of departure was the main event of the 1975 C.S.C.E. (European Conference on Security and Cooperation), which was held in that city. Translation was important in the conference's cultural and political context - local as well as worldwide.
